Hope Unbroken: Journeying in God’s Promise
Sisters Mary Genino, Catherine Vincie, and Margaret Hoyne, RSHM, from the Eastern and Western American Areas attended the 2025 LCWR Assembly in Atlanta, accompanied by communicators Catherine Wilkens and Cecilia Brizuela.
The assembly, Hope Unbroken: Journeying in God’s Promise (August 12–15), gathered over 850 participants to reflect on how religious life can embody hope in today’s world. Highlights included addresses by Sr. Kathy Brazda, CSJ; Sr. Simona Brambilla, MC; and Rev. James Martin, SJ, along with moving testimonies from women leaders who shared how faith sustains them in leadership.
A Pilgrimage of Hope took place on the morning of August 14, featuring a one-mile walk through downtown Atlanta with prayer rooted in the commitment to addressing systemic injustice in the areas of racism, migration, and the climate crisis. The assembly also blessed the newly elected LCWR leadership and concluded by honoring Sr. Mary Pat Garvin, RSM, with the 2025 Outstanding Leadership Award.
